The Western Regional Aquaculture Center (WRAC) Request for Pre-Proposals (RFP) for FY2023 is now open for submissions through April 15, 2022.

The WRAC is seeking Pre-Proposals for nine research areas, listed here in no specific order or rank:
- New and Emerging Species
- Detection, Prevention and Treatment of Stressors Affecting Aquaculture Production
- Aquaculture Opportunities Through Genetics
- Aquaculture: Applied Technology Solutions
- Diet Nutrition/Innovation
- Opportunities and Obstacles to Aquaculture Development in the Western Region
- Increasing Product Quality Through Food Science and Quality Control
- Reducing Impacts of Aquatic Nuisance Species on Shellfish Aquaculture
- Improvements in Hatchery Technology and Techniques
General Criteria for WRAC-funded Research & Outreach Projects
- The region includes Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
- Priority will be given to projects that include participation by two or more states located within the western region (see specific criteria).
- Partnerships may be formed among all elements of federal, state, and local government; public institutions; and the private sector.
