The School of Marine and Environmental Programs (SMEP) in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at the University of New England (UNE) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in the field of Aquaculture. We seek an individual with expertise in such topics as aquatic food production, animal feeds and nutrition, animal health, and conservation. This faculty member will support both graduate and undergraduate programs, bringing a strong desire to teach aquaculture courses, to engage students in research and other experiential learning opportunities, and to introduce students to cutting-edge techniques in the field. The successful candidate will join a diverse group of faculty and staff dedicated to investigating the ways in which their disciplines intersect to address issues such as climate change, food insecurity and the impact of development on the natural world. This position is intended to support several SMEP programs including the B.S. Aquaculture, Aquarium Science and Aquaponics (AAA), the B.S. in Sustainable Ecological Aquaculture (SEA) and the Professional Science Masters in Ocean Food Systems (PSM–OFS). The successful candidate will be expected to bring to the position the ability to obtain extramural funding.
