About This Year’s Host, Hudson Valley Fisheries:
Hudson Valley Fisheries, located in Hudson, New York, is a family-owned aquaculture company dedicated to producing sustainable, high-quality steelhead trout. Utilizing advanced Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) technology, they raise fish in a land-based, closed-loop environment that minimizes environmental impact and eliminates the need for antibiotics, hormones, or artificial dyes.
Their commitment to sustainability and food security is evident in their practices, which include reusing up to 95% of water and converting fish waste into fertilizer for local agriculture. This approach ensures a clean, healthy, and traceable product from egg to plate.
Hudson Valley Fisheries has earned multiple certifications, including Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) and the New York State Grown & Certified label, reflecting their dedication to responsible aquaculture and environmental stewardship.
By focusing on local distribution, they provide fresh steelhead trout to markets in New York and the Northeast within hours of harvest, supporting regional food systems and reducing their carbon footprint.
