Seafood HACCP Segment Two Training Offered at Aquaculture 2025

Courtesy of NAA:

The Basic Seafood Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) course teaches the principles of HACCP and empowers processors to develop HACCP plans specific for each seafood product they handle or produce.

This training can either take place fully in person over 2.5 to 3 days or as a hybrid two-part course that includes a self-paced online training (Segment One) followed by an in-person, hands-on training (Segment Two).

This Segment Two in-person training will be conducted on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Aquaculture 2025.  Registration is $250 for Aquaculture 2025 registrations that qualify for a “member rate,” $300 for non-members, and $75 for students.  Registrants must have completed the prerequisite online Segment One training before arrival (additional $175 fee; 12 modules; ~1 hour per module). Registration for the Segment Two training is via the Aquaculture 2025 registration page.

Participants who complete the full training (Segments One and Two) will receive a Seafood HACCP certificate from the Seafood HACCP Alliance via the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO). Seafood HACCP training certificates are controlled documents and the sole property of the individual who participated in the course. More information about Seafood HACCP Alliance training can be found here: https://www.afdo.org/training/sha/

Questions on the workshop can be directed to Razieh Farzad, Seafood Safety Extension Specialist for Florida Sea Grant and Seafood HACCP Alliance Instructor Lead, at <rfarzad@ufl.edu>.
