The United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has updated the health certificate for exporting salmonid eggs and gametes from the United States to Peru. Changes include the allowance for health certification at the country-level for some pathogens, inclusion of infectious pancreatic necrosis virus in statements 4 and 5, and the removal of Gyrodactylu salaris and Piscirickettsia salmonis from the list of pathogens of concern. More information regarding the export requirements and associated health certificate are on the APHIS International Regulations (IRegs) web page for Peru – https://www.aphis.usda.gov/live-animal-export/export-live-animals-peru.
Please note that this certificate can be uploaded into the APHIS online Veterinary Export Health Certification System (VEHCS). Peru accepts both electronic issuance by your Accredited Veterinarian and digital signature and endorsement by APHIS. For more information on VEHCS visit USDA APHIS | Country Acceptance List for VEHCS.
